Brother Milford Biddle Passes On

Dr. Milford Biddle

S. Milford Biddle, full-time evangelist and member of Grace Baptist Church in Liberty, SC, has passed on to be with God.

Brother Biddle was saved on September 7, 1947, in a community revival at the Pea Ridge Schoolhouse in DeKalb County, Alabama. He served ten years as a Deacon and Music Director at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rossville, GA…

After surrendering to the gospel ministry in January 1961, Dr. Biddle became the host of the Hour of Worship radio broadcast and the Pastor of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN where he enjoyed over 29 years of fruitful ministry. He has preached in Missions and Bible Conferences, Revival meetings and Camp Meetings all over the eastern United States, traveled in eighteen foreign countries and received a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Tabernacle Baptist Bible College, Greenville, SC. His book, Bible Preaching Outlines for the Pauline Epistles, was printed in 2001.

Dr. Biddle had a disciplined Christian walk, a personal dedication to the memorization of the Scriptures and a prayerful study of God’s word. He and his wife, Martha Ozell, (who pre-deceased him) were married 54 years and had two daughters, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

I have heard brother Biddle preach many times at Campmeetings. The man was an inspiration to me as well as the late J.O. Grooms in committing to memorize Scripture. The old time doctrinally solid preachers are passing off and nownew "preachers" who are liberal and hold to unorthodox doctrines are influencing Churches today. We must pick up the mantle where brother Biddle left off and maintain doctrinal purity as he did.

Will miss the great fellowship with this fine servant of the Lord.
Thankful for the "blessed hope" of meeting again.
